Wisconsin Public Television's "The Wisconsin Gardener'' kicks off its 20th anniversary at 5:30 p.m. March 4 with a season premiere that will feature The Flying Pig in Algoma.
The episode, "Curing a Brown Thumb,'' offers tips to help formerly hopeless gardeners create a thriving home landscape. Host and producer Shelley Ryan will visit The Flying Pig, an eclectic art gallery, greenspace and nursery, to talk with owner Robyn Mulhaney about plants that grow best in a variety of Wisconsin landscapes and growing conditions.
The show also features visits to Allen Centennial Gardens in Madison and a visit with University of Wisconsin-Extension soil scientist Doug Soldat.
